Activities of the team/department that this role will operate in;
Working as part of a team to undertake highway maintenance, construction and contract work.
Purpose of the role and your responsibilities;
Installation, maintenance & removal of temporary traffic management in accordance with chapter 8 2009
Specific patching, drainage, masonry, surfacing, cyclic maintenance, emergency & highways maintenance tasks
Driving of vehicles requiring specialist driving skills
Provide general support and assistance to skilled and specialist operatives
Ensure care and cleanliness of all tools plant and equipment at all times
Ensure efficient use of stock & materials and control waste
Undertake any other appropriate tasks as required
Complete all standard forms and reports when required
Ensure Agents and Supervisors are informed of all matters relating to the business
Work at all times in the best interests of the business and to seek to improve the service provided
Participate in job training and personal development as appropriate
Seek to develop own skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the business
Work with an awareness of/responsibility for the safety of self and others
Formal qualifications required;
Full UK Driving Licence
Good communication skills
Able to work as part of a team
Experience in Highways construction (an advantage)
Good knowledge of Health & Safety
Able to work well as part of a team
Wiliness to participate in job training and personal development
